I am trying to help a Veteran travel from New Mexico (currently) to Huntsville, Alabama to go stay with his son and his family. This is his story that I am posting for him.

"I met my grandchildren once on Father's Day 2022 when my son and I reunited after several years of not being in regular contact. Now we speak several times a week. We would like to spend the Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years Holidays together as a family but we can't both afford to make this happen and keep the bills paid even if we put our money together. Of course the grandchildren have heard the conversations and are excited to see "Pop-Pops" (me) and they don't understand "we can't afford it" and it breaks my heart thinking I will let them down! Most importantly, I don't want to let my son down either! I have a truck that gets about 225-300 miles per full tank and it costs me about $90-100 to fill it up, Huntsville is about 1,015 miles from where I'm at, it's about a 15 hour non-stop drive. I am a Gulf War Army Veteran and I live off of my Veteran's pension, which isn't much, but I survive. I'm just asking for some help with a little travel money to be able to spend the holidays with my family. I know I'm asking with not much time to make this happen, but I just found out about this site.
