Salve Roma!
My Travel Story
For the past two years, I’ve been studying Latin, something I decided to try after moving across the country. What began as a new challenge has turned into a meaningful experience that’s changed how I see learning. Studying Latin has shown me that even a “dead” language can open doors to understanding culture, history, and the way people once thought. It’s taught me the value of curiosity and the importance of keeping an open mind.
This trip is especially personal for me because of my Italian heritage. Although I’ve never traveled outside the country before, many of my family members have studied abroad in Italy, and I’m proud to follow in their footsteps.
As a student in the International Baccalaureate program, I’m encouraged to look at the world from different perspectives and to seek out experiences that challenge me. Traveling to Rome will be my first real step into exploring something completely new—a chance to see history up close and to grow as both a student and a person.
