My Travel Story

After months of planning, you and your friends set off on an unforgettable journey through the Horn of Africa. Your first stop was Ethiopia, where you were greeted by the stunning landscapes of the Simien Mountains. You trekked through breathtaking valleys and met local villagers, learning about their customs and traditions. One evening, you gathered around a fire and shared injera, a traditional sourdough flatbread, with your new friends, enjoying the vibrant flavors of Ethiopian cuisine.

Next, you traveled to Eritrea, a country rich in history and culture. In Asmara, the capital, you were struck by the blend of Italian colonial architecture and vibrant markets. You explored the bustling streets, sampled delicious Eritrean dishes like zigni and shiro, and visited the beautiful beaches of Massawa. The warmth of the people and their stories about the country’s history made your experience truly special.

Crossing into Somalia, you found a land of contrasts. In Mogadishu, the capital, you explored the lively markets, where colorful textiles and spices filled the air with tantalizing scents. You learned about the resilience of the Somali people, their traditions, and their hopes for the future. A highlight was visiting the beautiful beaches along the coast, where you relaxed on the soft sand and enjoyed fresh seafood.

Your final destination was Djibouti, a small but captivating country. You marveled at the surreal landscapes of Lake Assal, the lowest point in Africa, with its stunning salt flats. You also took a boat trip in the Gulf of Tadjoura, where you swam alongside vibrant marine life and enjoyed the crystal-clear waters.
As you reflected on your journey, you realized how much you had learned about the diverse cultures, histories, and landscapes of the Horn of Africa.
