We are Alexis and Marine. Alexis is a student finishing medical school in June and soon starting his residency program in France. Marine is a graduate ocean mechanical engineering student doing research on wave energy converters in the United States. We are both French and share the dream of traveling the world together.

Passionate about sports and travels (previous trips together included hiking, surfing, biking in France, Italy, Switzerland, USA, Canada and England), we have recently decided to buy an old American camper van (1981 Ford Brougham RV) with the intent of discovering and hiking the most breathtaking trails on our way all around and across the western USA and Canada from June 29th to mid September: 15,000km driving, 1,500km hiking.

Through pictures, videos and posts, we would like to be able to share our experience with not only our close ones but also people who might be interested in seeing different landscapes and exploring unique cultures for their personal interest and/or for planning future trips. Our final goal is also to make a detailed list and description of each and every hike we have been on so that it would be easier for future hikers to plan their trips accordingly.

By saving money from student jobs and internships, we were able to pay for our own flights, the camper van and some general repairs, plus the necessary equipment, but as the big day is coming up quickly, we would greatly appreciate some financial help to finish fixing the van. Indeed, after several weeks of repair, our repair shop is far behind schedule and keeps "finding" new issues again and again, and not only we start to feel a bit worried with the departure date approaching so quickly, but also the bill is getting significantly big... And consequently, we might not be able to complete our trip!


Therefore, any donation will be greatly appreciated!! And we are also fine with having sponsors and with rewarding our funders.


The funds will be entirely used for the repairs. Everything else has been bought and paid for already. Repairs include: braking system, distributor and wires, radiator, starter, engine heads and valves, propane and water system leaks, brand new tires/spare tires, tune up.

Hence, we would be extremely thankful to receive any help as we have been planning and saving for this trip for more than a year now, and it truly is a dream for us.
