Thank you for taking the time to look at my page!

My name is Dy’Anna and I have just been accepted to the University of York’s MSc in Audio and Music technology program. Studying at the University of York will give me the once in the lifetime opportunity to study audio engineering with nothing but the best and the brightest.

Why the University of York?

My stepfather introduced me to music production when I just was ten years old. As a young girl, I would beg to accompany him to his studio. I could sit for hours watching him mix songs and create masterpieces. His passion for not only music, but the business left a lasting impression on me. And from then on, I knew that I wanted to pursue music production.

I applied to the University of York because I wanted a program that examined music as both a science and a creative art. This year long program not only focuses on the technical application of music production but also encourages intensive research within the field.

It was also very important for me to find a program committed to diversity. As a woman and also a person with cognitive hearing loss, I wanted to make sure that I’d be supported. The university takes its commitment to its students very seriously. And because of that it has a variety of disability support systems and was presented with the Gold Athena Swan Award for its commitment to women in science. I am so excited to be a part of such a progressive institution.

Through hardwork and sleepless nights, I’ve have received about 50% of funding for this program. It is that last little bit that I have yet to cover.

Your donation will help cover some of the costs of my trip and help me get one step closer to my goal of becoming a live sound engineer.

No contribution is too small. ANYTHING helps!

Thank you for taking the time to read!
