Archaeology project
My Travel Story
As an archaeology student, visiting Bastión de San Miguel is more than a field trip — it’s a transformative step in my academic journey. Studying this historic 18th-century fort will enhance my understanding of colonial defense systems and offer real-world experience in heritage preservation. I chose this destination for its strategic role in Caribbean history and its architectural resilience. It holds personal meaning as a symbol of cultural identity and resistance. I plan to share my findings through workshops and community talks, creating awareness about the value of conserving our past. By connecting history with today’s generation, I hope to inspire a sense of pride and responsibility, making a lasting impact in both my career and the community I serve.
