My Travel Story

I have been given the opportunity through CISabroad to study abroad in France at the Institut Catholique de Paris for the Spring semester of 2017.

I am currently studying at Longwood University to become a French language teacher. As much as I have studied and read about the French culture, you can only learn but so much from books. You need to live and experience the culture first hand to truly understand and effectively teach both the language and culture. While abroad, I plan on taking courses to further my understanding of French language and how to teach it, as well as courses on both French history and modern France. As well as taking the CISabroad program’s planned excursions including tours of Paris City, Versaille, and Fountainebleau. 

I have applied for a number of different scholarships and I haven't heard back from any of them as of yet, but I will be posting them up on here if I am able to get them. If I cannot raise the money for this trip, I'll have to cancel the study abroad. This will make me very sad as I have planned the rest of my college years around this trip and would be delaying my graduation. As much as I hate to see that happen, each day it's seeming more and more like reality.

I know times are tough financially, but every little bit helps. Please help if you can, or at least spread the word. Thank you for your support !

  • I GOT A SCHOLARSHIP !!!

    I have been awarded the Presidential Scholarship from my university !! Worth $2000 !! I am so excited and greatful for receiving this !
