Help me to fund my MA in film studies in Leeds
My Travel Story
At the beginning of this year, I was accepted in a master degree in Film Studies, at the University of Leeds, which filled me with joy due to the fact that in Chile we don't have many options of postgraduate courses in the artistic field.
Sadly, due to Covid-19, the governmental scholarships were cancelled for 2020/2021 studies, and I had to defer my entrance for the next year. However, a few days ago, the government announced that scholarships are not going to be available for the next year, either. Therefore, is going to be very hard to afford all the expenses without this full scholarship.
I want to study this master because I work in a field that is not very appreciated in my country, or at least it's not taken seriously. But I want to be part of a change and help to impulse the film industry in Chile, and for that, I need to keep studying and achieving goals, and this master is the first step on my journey.
My plan is to keep working and save all the money I can. Aside from my own money, the idea is to apply to a partial scholarship, and if I have the opportunity to travel abroad, apply to a part-time job, so I can study and work to pay the living cost in the UK.
