My name is Julianne Guercio, and I am currently a junior at Buffalo State College.  I am pursuing a degree in Photography and Graphic Design.  Photography has been my passion from a young age; it is my dream to travel to new places and capture all life's beautiful and unique moments.  Besides occasional trips to Canada, I have yet to travel internationally. However, I have been to Wales one time when I was nine months old.  After graduation, I plan on traveling the States and moving to New York City to work in Advertising.  I long to explore Europe to enrich myself in different cultures and lifestyles and to capture every moment along the way.
The majority of my heritage stems from Italy, Wales, Hungary, and Poland. I have family in these countries and would love to connect with them and learn more about where my family lives. The study abroad program through John Cabot University offers classes Monday-Thursday, allowing time to explore and dive deeper into my roots. This program would allow me to travel and see the places where some of my family grew up.
I would be honored to spend a summer at John Cabot University studying Studio Art and Art History. These programs offer the best options to further my education in my current major and teach me valuable lessons that I can use post-graduation.  Studying art history in Rome would be beneficial considering the rich history that started in Italy. Not only would the classes be enriching, but being able to immerse in the culture fully is very attractive to me. Rome is a major center for the arts currently, and especially was in the past. Every artist should have the opportunity to experience this dynamic first hand.
