My Travel Story

My father was born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica. He became very ill and died last year and I was not able to go to his funeral. A few months ago, I became ill myself and suffered from half of my face being paralysed and half of my body going numb. For two months, I was in pain every single day and walking lopsided. My face finally has movement again, but it will never be the same again. After going through an eye opening, what felt like a near death experience, I want to be able to do something that will bring me joy and happiness. I suffered financial loss from the medical condition. I am feeling better, I still feel the loss of my father. I want to go to his grave site and the village that he lived in, to at least get a small part of the life that he lived. I would like for my daughter, my sister and her children to join me on this voyage, for they have never been able to go as well. We are all his lineage and though we were not able to make it then, I would still like for us to go and experience the family, friends, and community he experienced.
