It marks 14 years , 14 was her favorite number, since my mother's passing who grew up in Idaho and spent many summers at these very falls. She had countless memories she told me as a child where she almost died at swimming and jumping off rocks. We had always talked about going up there all throughout my childhood, but never was able to. She got sick with fibromyalgia and our dreams of experiencing this bliss together was no longer. So here as I come up on the 14th year I have made a promise to myself and my son that we will go spread grandmas ashes together and make a new memory of Shoshone falls for the books. Going up there will educate my son on the culture difference we experience, and I hope to get in touch with some family that may still be around up there and we can share some more stories. This trip would ease my mind as every year when her anniversary passes I sit an look at the ashes with a heart full of despair as I want to ease our pain. Knowing that if I were to spread her ashes anywhere but here just wouldn't sit right with me. Thank you for reading this as I do plan on making the trip in 2025 just with the economy getting more expensive and raising a child presents its challenges, i struggle to save up.
