My Travel Story

by: Rafael Tonu Start Date: Nov 22, 2016 - End Date: Mar 21, 2017
I'm actually the last person that would do one of these, I don't really like asking for help ever, it is just my nature.  I am in Mexico in the middle of changing my immigration status because Im trying to get my citizenship here, and according to the immigration rules here, I'm not allowed to leave the country untill after I receive my citizenship, which I can not even apply for untill I've been a temporary resident for two years.  To make a long story short, while all of this was taking place, my girlfriend that is still in the U.S. had my son.  I have not met him yet, and I am overfilled with joy, but at the same time heartbroken from my current situation.  I just want to meet him, hold him, and kiss on him.  He is my whole world and I'm completely frustrated at the fact that I can't even touch my son.  Here in Mexico the pay is rediculously low.  I work in drywall because I don't know any spanish, although I'm trying my hardest to learn.  I get paid 1000 pesos per week on a good week, and most weeks I make under 800 pesos.  So my maximum pay in the best case scenario is 4000 pesos per month if I'm lucky although that has not happened in quite a while.  Currently the dollar to peso exchange rate is 20 pesos equals $1.  Best case scenario I bring in $200 per month.  Buying a plane ticket for my son and my girlfriend so that they can come and visit is just not achievable unfortunately for me.  I would like to be able to see them for Christmas, but even if I can't I would be happy just to meet him.  So this is me humbling myself and asking for help for the first time in life, lol.  Any and everything will be appreciated immensly.  Love, Peace and Blessings to you all.

P.S. before anyone gets scared of the large sum I'm asking for, remember this sum is in Mexican Pesos, not dollars.
