Dear compassionate people,

My name is Jonathan, and I come from Nigeria, a country in West Africa. Today, I humbly reach out to you, seeking your generous support in rising funds for my journey to Canada, where I aspire to build a better future for myself. Life has presented me with significant challenges since I was just eleven years old, when I tragically lost my mother.  From that moment, everything changed, and my family struggled to make ends meet even before her passing. To summarize my journey, I have come a long way from abject poverty, which often fills me with sadness. Despite facing financial hardships and being unable to attend school, I motivated myself to learn how to read and write, even as an adult. Eventually, I took my high school examination and acheived an average grade. Since 2008, I have been striving to improve my circumstances, yearning for the opportunity to escape the grip of poverty that currently entraps me.

Recently, I was fortunate to connect with a kind friend from Canada who offeredme a chance to work at his friend's company as a construction worker. However, there are certain expenses that I need to cover in order to sieze this opportunity. Specifically, I am responsible for the cost of the Canadian Labour Market Impact Assessment Application processing fees, which amounts to $2500. Additionally, I must arrange for an airplane ticket, cover visa fees, and complet IELTS test, bringing the total estimated cost to approximately $5000.

Despite my relentless efforts to secure employment and save money, the current reality in my country has made it exceedingly challenging. It is in this pursuit that I came across this platform, inspired by the testimonies I read here. With hope in my heart, I decided to share my story, yearning for compassionate individuals like you to listen and, if you find it within your means, lend a helping hand to a young man whose dreams are anchored in making a positives impact, given the opportunity in an enabling environment.
