My Travel Story

Hello!

My name is Natalia. I am a Pianist, Percussionist, and Vocalist from Miami, Florida. I have been a Musician for 25 years, and during that time I have performed, composed, produced, and released my own music. I was a part of the Berklee College of Music Valencia Campus Class of 2020 Master’s Program in Contemporary Performance (Production Concentration), and unfortunately due to the pandemic, we were unable to have an in-person graduation and graduation concert. At a Berklee Alumni Community Listening Session with the new President of Berklee this past March, I advocated for my Class and the Class of 2021 to have a re-do in-person graduation and graduation concert, and my thoughts/ideas were taken into consideration! This past April we were invited back to Berklee Valencia this summer to graduate in person and participate in the graduation concert! It means alot to me that my thoughts and ideas were taken into consideration and something came out of it. Graduating with any degree is a huge accomplishment that deserves to be celebrated and I believed/believe that my classmates and I deserve to celebrate that accomplishment like the classes before us and the classes after us, walking across the stage to obtain our Master's degrees in front of our family and friends. That is why I advocated for all of us to be able to have an in-person Graduation and Graduation Concert, and I am happy that those events will be happening and I am happy that everyone will finally be able to properly celebrate their achievement of getting their Master's degree.

Unfortunately due to finances, I am not able to purchase flight tickets and accommodation for my family and I to attend my graduation. It would mean a lot to me to attend my graduation and for my family to be able to see me get my Master's Degree. It would especially mean a lot to attend graduation, since I was the one to advocate for everyone from the Classes of 2020 and 2021 to have an in-person Graduation and Graduation Concert, so it would be special to see my thoughts and ideas come to fruition.

The money would be applied to 5 flight tickets to Valencia, Spain (Dad, Mom, 2 Brothers, and I) and accommodation for a week there.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story,
