Hello everyone! My name is Breanna Niedbalski, and I am a second year English and Communications double major at Maryville University in St. Louis, MO. Something that I have always wanted to do ever since I was a little girl has been to study abroad, however, everytime I have had the opportunity thrown at me, money has always been the issue. Literally. I have always wanted to visit Europe, and when I found out about our study abroad program here, I knew I wanted to be involved as soon as I could. The trip takes place in Florence, Italy, and is from May 15th to June 19th, with an optional end of program trip to Rome for 3 additional days (June 22nd). The program is to begin with a  4 day excursion to the Amalfi Coast, Mt. Vesuvius, Pompeii, and the island of Capri. For the duration of the trip, I would be living in the heart of Florence, and I would be within walking distance of all the important sights. The trip also includes many excursions throughout Florence, such as going through Venice, as well as the medieval city of Siena. Now, because this is study abroad, I have to take 2-3 courses, which I would be hoping to take 3 courses because I would like to earn as many credits as I can. This trip I will be paying for 100% by myself. Now, as a 20 year old who is a full-time student, trying to swing this alone will NOT be easy. That's why I would like to ask for your help! You are not by any means obligated to help me by funding this trip, but donating would not only help me financially, but also educationally as I would be earning 9 credit hours from this trip! Normally I take 18 hours a semester, so this trip could potentially help me to graduate early! So, to breakdown some of the financials, the total on-site cost for 6 credits is about $5,445 + airfare (which is estimated to be $1,400). For an additional 3 credit hours, it would be an extra $750. I know it is a lot of money to do this, but every dollar gets me a little closer to my dream of studying abroad.
