My Travel Story

by: James-Corleone Rebecchie Start Date: Nov 2, 2017 - End Date: Mar 1, 2018
Hey everyone, thank you so much for taking the time to read through this, we really are in a pickle and without this fundraising page we will not be able to do this, I'll explain ...

7 years ago whilst my wife who is from the Philipines and was living there at the time, she was brutally attacked by someone giving her a lift in his car, a few days later her husband at the time blamed her, called her a nasty name and in her sleep tried to suffocate her, and all whilst her 3 children were in the house ... the next morning she knew that she had to escape and escape she did, she went to find work in Hong Kong making the hardest decision ever to leave her Children believing that they would be safe with him and get family who are all there, the kids ages are Shaiana who's 9, Angela who's 13 and Mark who is 18 now and training to be a nurse for which we are paying hundreds a month as his father refuses to support him ;(

So 7 years later I was in Hong Kong and met Jane, our story is a testimony in itself, we knew the second that we met that were kingdom husband and wife, Jane started to process her divorce and we looked at what it would take to bring Jane here to the UK, remembering she was only on a work visa there.

After 10 months of meeting we applied for a visitor visa to the UK with me as her sponsor. It was denied for silly reasons so I appealed and we were granted a 6 months visitor visa ... we managed to have 2 6 week visits with me sponsoring her ... the second time Jane fell pregnant and had to fly back to HK 5 days later, the hospital said that flying was safe but when she landed she immediately went for an Ultrasound, we lost the baby :( it was devastating and still is as this was only last year, Jane ended up needing major surgery to remove the dead foetus, we didn't believe it and wanted a 3nd opinion, in that time the foetus rotted and caused Jane a life threatening infection... thankfully the surgery went well but still we don't know if Jane can carry a baby again, we are trying but failing :( it's really effecting us :( altogether with the refusal, appeal, flights etc etc it cost us over £4000, I had to go into an IVA just because the cost a spiralled and especially when we were charged £759 from the NHS for an 8 hour wait in A&E with Jane, it's like we were being attacked from every area and we were beaten down

After the miscarriage I asked Jane to marry me because I knew, we both knew that we were always supposed to meet and in October last year we applied for a Fiance Visa, this was denied just like every other Visa, I appealed it and in February this year it was granted :) by the time that Jane arrived in February 26th we had spend £4500 in fees and solicitor fees also but the main thing was that we were together. We married on Easter Saturday and life has been settling down with lots of adjustments understandably.

One of the issues is that I'm registered disabled and struggle to walk after a life threatening motorbike accident 5 years ago August just gone ... I'm left needing morphine 24/7, literally 24/7 ... being unable to work meant that I had to sacrifice having my carers just so we could save up, it literally took every penny of my disability money, I've had to sell things just yo be able to afford the bills, my guitars, my television, literally everything that could be sold to raise funds I sold.

After we were married we had to transfer our visa to a partner Visa, £2670 later we were granted leave to remain for 30 months, we are 4 months into that visa and are trying yo rebuild our life but it's so hard when we have no money or anything left to sell, I can't get rid of my father's watch but that's the only thing left with value ...

In January this year I used my credit card and went to the Philipines so that I could meet Jane's family and importantly children. It was an amazing experience and we promised them thst we would come again at Christmas but thst can't happen for a long time based on how much it will cost us, this is why we are reaching out here ... the children already call me Daddy bit I can't be that to them, hopefully we will eventually bring them here but the main thing is to get there as soon as possible, it's so hard for Jane not being with them and me also, I love them and just wished that we could have spent Christmas there but that can't happen unless we reach our goal before then ... we really do need help.

The other purpose of the trip that I want to do some voluntary and missionary work there helping put where I can, it was an eye opener when I went there so this time I know that I'm going to offer myself for service no matter how hard the job, I have a massive passion for the Philipines and I hope that I can make a difference, certainly seeing the children and especially now thst I'm their step father is a priority, it's upsetting us that we can't afford it, we argue and fight with no answer because the money isn't there :( I feel so lost and depressed, I've self harmed and hurt myself just because I'm struggling to cope, we haven't even had a honeymoon as we couldn't afford one, all we have been doing is fighting for survival, and fight we are, we just want stability :( please if your able to help us reach our goal we will owe you for an eternity and if there's any way that we can help you please get in touch. We are desperate to bring the children here to live with us, hopefully that's the next step but first it's very important that I'm introduced formally as a member of Jane's family and as father to the children and more importantly than that for Jane to see her children. I hope that I'm always a great role model for them and to be the person that they need in their life, I pray that the opportunity will come with your support.

We are both Christians, Jane works as a nurse and although I can't work through my injuries I still lead worship at church and play guitar, keys and I sing also, all we strive to do is to build a home and life that blesses people, our home us open to everyone, that's who we are and we give as much as we can and unconditionally, that's the life we strive for and hope that we care making a difference in our community one step at a time

The pictures are of Shaiana and Angela

Bless you all
