Help PWorthy Archives expand travel coverage
My Travel Story
Hello everyone!!
PWorthy Archives
I am Patrice Worthy, a journalist that recently launched Pworthy Archives - Rediscover a Movement, a blog dedicated to sharing stories about the high arts that often go overlooked. At PWorthy Archives we tell stories that matter to everyday people demonstrating how the intersection of urban culture and high art work together as part of a bigger work. We uncover how varying perspectives contribute to the vast artistic landscape contributing to the creativity and depth seen in museums, galleries, fashion runways, and heard in music.
The Project
I launched this fundraiser because PWorthy Archives aims to provide readers a window into the future by creating a platform that features big ideas about our world. In order to fully meet that mission I am expanding the content to include travel and sustainability coverage. Just like art, I want to tell travel stories that have never been told before. As a resident of North Carolina, I live in a state heavily impacted by climate change. The narratives from folks who have lived here for years gives insight into the issue of climate change and how organizations are working to provide sustainable solutions. I want to tell stories, that educate our readers about climate change and sustainability to demonstrate how our changing environment affects us and our neighbors.
Climate change and travel: Many of the world’s most popular vacation destinations are hit hard by climate change creating adverse living conditions. Many of the people in these locales are experts at absorbing the impact, but their stories go overlooked. During the 2024 Caring for Others International Poverty Forum in Atlanta, I was invited to tell these unique stories and how these destinations are creating road maps for solutions to climate change and how it affects their communities.
Sustainability in all areas of our lives: While attending the 2024 Reuters Responsible Business Conference I was exposed to the big ideas percolating in the sustainability sector. As an emerging market sustainability is a very inclusive term and that’s what makes the subject so interesting and applicable to almost every aspects of our lives. The Reuters Responsible Business Conference exposed me to a new generation of thinkers in sustainability and I want to provide a platform to explore their work. My desire is to develop content focusing on how sustainability practices can gradually move us into a brighter future.
Why help PWorthy Archives?
It’s as simple as my writing contributes to positive and lasting change. While writing about the arts I was instrumental in gently bringing issues of race to the forefront of the arts scene in Atlanta. By engaging readers about sustainability and climate change, hopefully, the content can create a spark in the imaginations of Pworthy Archives readers.
Why Donate?
Donations made to PWorthy Archives are an investment in the future and will allow me to continue to tell incredible stories about art, climate change, and sustainability. All proceeds from donations will go towards travel expenses and maintaining the PWorthy Archives blog i.e. lodging, food, and transportation. Offsetting travel costs will allow me to focus on writing and research.
Thank you so much for your generosity support.
Warm regards,
Patrice Worthy
