My Travel Story

After having recently lost my husband, my daughter's 16th birthday is just around the corner.  She is missing her Daddy fiercely, and has been very emotional and upset that he will not be with us to celebrate such a big milestone birthday that he always talked about making a huge deal for her.

As a newly struggling widow and now single Mom, I am just barely making ends meet, and even with working 2 jobs, I cannot see a way to take her on her dream birthday trip to celebrate her.  I have had to uproot her several times since the loss of my husband, due to the cost of living, and I would give anything to be able to make her heart smile just for a long weekend and let her just be a carefree kid, which she has not been able to do since her Daddy's loss.

We have also lost most of our family, and unfortunately I don't have anyone I can borrow from to make this happen.  I am climbing out of a huge financial mess since losing my husband, and have no options for borrowing at all.  As a Mom, I am heartbroken that I won't be able to make this wish come true for my daughter, unless I have a miracle of kindness to help.  Her only wish is for her, Me, and her Grandmother (who is a recent Cancer patient) to see Wicked on Broadway, go to the Empire State Building and a few other landmarks, and have one or two nice dinners to celebrate her birthday.  

I am a very private person, and putting this out there is very humbling and hurtful for me, but if it means my daughter's happiness just for 3 short days, I will take the chance.  I am happy to send photos by email of my daughter & I, but I don't love the idea of our faces all over the internet, which is why I am not posting pictures.  I hope that's okay.  If I am contacted/emailed, I will absolutely send along pics & more information if asked for.
