My Travel Story

by: Janna M Start Date: Aug 29, 2025 - End Date: Dec 28, 2025
Hello friends, music lovers, and kind souls,

As someone with Autism Level 1, my brain doesn't have a filter. The hum of a fridge, a distant conversation, the glare of overhead lights—it all comes in at the same volume, and it can quickly turn a simple day into a tangled, overwhelming knot. It's like being on a stage with every spotlight pointed at you, but you never learned the lines. In all that noise, classical music, especially the violin, has been my script. Its structure is a map for my thoughts; its melodies give a voice to feelings I can't always name.

For years, I’ve listened to recordings of my heroes—like the profoundly talented Julia Fischer—and dreamed of what it must be like to be in the same room as that sound. To feel her precise and passionate artistry fill a concert hall, to feel the vibrations of a full orchestra in my chest, to be part of a collective breath as a room holds still for a silent pause... to experience the music not just through headphones, but as a full-body, sensory experience.

It is my deepest dream to travel to Europe—the birthplace of this music—to finally attend a live performance, ideally one featuring Julia Fischer. This is more than a vacation; for me, it is a pilgrimage. It is the chance to experience the art form that has saved me in its purest, most powerful form.

I am saving what I can, but as many of you know, travel like this is a significant cost. I am reaching out to ask if you would consider helping me make this dream a reality. Your support would help cover:

  • A ticket to a concert (hopefully one where Julia Fischer is performing!)
  • Travel expenses (flights, train tickets within Europe)
  • Accommodation for a short, modest trip.

This would be more than just a concert; it would be the culmination of a lifetime of finding solace in music, and a memory I would carry with me forever. Thank you for listening to my story and for considering helping me experience the sound that has always helped me feel whole.

With sincere thanks,
Janna
