That's right people! Its time to take some ACTion! And I hope to do just that in September 2017.

Those of you who know me personally know that I love this beautiful planet we call home. From the people to the mediterranean sea, from the penguins to the cheetahs down to the tiny pigmy seahorses (Yes they are a thing! Look them up!). I think this place is pretty swell! Which is why I value travel and acts of service. I want to experience it all and I want to take care of it all as well. That is what drives me to volunteer with Wildlife ACT Focused Conservation Program. The wildlife in Zululand is suffering and being wiped out. This wildlife not only preserves a balanced ecosystem but acts as a financial resource for the local area. Visitors come to see the beautiful animals  in their natural habitats, bringing in money for the local communities and creating jobs. Reservations and their inhabitants provide a hub for education to many people as well. Furthermore, these protected areas allow for predetors to coexist with humans, creating a habitat that both can saefly prosper from.

The reservations that are doing the most work to sustain the dying ecosystem need volunteers and funds to function. I want to do my part in helping preserve South Africa's unique ecosystem for future generations that live there and abroad by volunteering for this fantastic ogranization.

Africa Geographic Magezine recently described Wildlife ACT Focused Conservation Volunteer Program perfectly--
"The mission of Wildlife ACT, a beneficiary of My School My Village My Planet, is to help save the planet’s endangered wildlife and wild places from extinction. As a team of knowledgeable and passionate conservationists who work 365 days a year, they provide volunteers with the opportunity to get hands-on experience by taking part in their endangered species programme."

"The programme is based on five different game reserves in South Africa's biodiverse Zululand region and focuses on endangered animals - including the African wild dog, cheetah, rhino, lion, elephant, leopard and vulture. It offers a crash course in conservation techniques that can be learnt from the best. Volunteers are up before sunrise and learn practical skills – from radio telemetry to collecting behavioural data. No two days are alike and volunteers have the opportunity to work on all the reserves for two weeks at a time."

It would be an honor to volunteer with this prestigious and caring organization. And I would be even further honored for any assistance our community half way across the world can provide. I can think of no better way to spend my time than helping the people and animals of Zululand while in turn enriching my own education about the world we live in.
Thank you!
