My Travel Story

My name is Megan Mercer. I am a 22 year old from Minneapolis, MN. I have accepted a job with PwC but prior to starting my job next fall I feel that I need to do something to give back. I have a passion for education and community outreach. During my college career I interned with Teach for America, which opened my eyes to the lack of education being provided to the world's children. 

My passion for education is the purpose of my adventure and what lead me to Maximo Nivel. In June I will be traveling to Cusco, Peru to teach English in an underprivileged school. More than 25% of the Peruvian population lives in poverty. Learning to speak English is a life-changing skill for children in developing countries, as it opens both academic and professional opportunities and provides a path out of poverty (a link to the organizations website is posted below.)
