Studying in Spain will be my first time traveling outside of North America and I am ecstatic. My 4 months in Spain will advance and strengthen my Spanish, which will not only aid in achieving my minor requirements, but also reaching my personal goal of becoming fluent in Spanish. Achieving fluency in Spanish is more than a personal goal, it's a professional goal; in the future, when I'm a doctor, Spanish fluency will be essential for working in underprivileged communities. 

I chose Spain because I have travelled to the Latin American country of Costa Rica and I wanted to expand to the country where the Spanish language began. Also, Spain has some of the world's best architecture and a rich history and culture that I can't wait to see and experience.
