I teach AP African American studies and I would love to actually visit Africa! Our first unit of study is west Africa and I know I would do the subject more justice by learning about the culture first hand. I have my personal reasons for wanted to discover my own heritage as well but becoming an even more authentic teacher is my primary goal.
