My Travel Story

by: Heather Taylor Start Date: Mar 19, 2024 - End Date: Jul 18, 2024
Hello all
My name is Heather. I am a 54 y/o grandmother.  In 2018. I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer.  I had surgery to remove it and thought they had got it all. It returned with a vengeance when I was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast- bone on October 24, 2022. My life as I knew it... was over.  I have had 137 rounds of radiation and am currently on my 2nd round of medication because I am being put in medical menopause in Hope's to reduce the spread of the cancer and have a better quality of life. When I was diagnosed in 2022. My oncologist gave me about 5 years to live. Since then. The cancer spread some to some organs. My treatments are in Cleveland OH at UH Seidman cancer center.  My main bucket list item is to see the Northern Lights while I can still walk. I will be having surgery to my right shoulder because my bones are squared Instead of rounded. Then there are talks of hip replacement.  I can't have anymore radiation.  I just completed an experimental spine radiation.  I have had, I like to think, a positive attitude through this. I need to get passports for my fiance and I and if possible,  I would love to take my 2. Adult. Children to share in this experience.and also make many memories.  I have 32 y/o military son who is in Florida and a 27 y/o, go gett-er daughter.  I am very proud of my children that I have raised. I write poetry about my journey and also have a  Facebook page. No donation is too small and thoughts and prayers are always welcome.
