Their nightmare began when the brother, in an effort to secure a better future for his family, was convinced by a trusted friend to collect money from people with the promise of securing work visas for Saudi Arabia. Believing in his friend’s words, he gathered a significant amount of money—$40,000 (approximately ten million PKR)—from individuals hoping for a chance to work abroad and improve their lives.
However, the brother's friend betrayed him and the family. The visas never materialized, and the money was never returned. The situation has escalated to a point where those who gave their money are now furious and desperate, setting a deadline of September 3, 2024, for the repayment. As the deadline has passed and the money is still missing, the family is now facing intense harassment, threats, and mental torture from those demanding their money back.
This family is now living in constant fear, with people attacking and threatening them daily. The brother, who has been tirelessly trying to recover the money since last August, has been met with nothing but disappointment and deceit. Their patient mother and young sisters are bearing the brunt of this trauma, with no way out in sight.
