My Travel Story

by: Renata Renata Start Date: Apr 13, 2018 - End Date: Aug 10, 2018

Since I was a kid, I really love animals and plants. I have raised many pets and grown a lot of plants. It feels like a nature magic to see how animals can understand us (not only big animals like dogs and cats, but I can 'communicate' with my turtle and hamster!) and how a seed can gradually change into a big tree with many fruits!

Now that I grew up and can choose my own path, suddenly I thought of doing something out of my routines. I am now working as a full-time employee, dancing and teaching on weekends, and doing some traveling during my holidays with my mother who is now a single-mom.

I found this website GoEco, which offers many kinds of volunteering activities. My attention was right away captured by this project in Wildlife Research and Ecological Farming done by a Swiss geographer and an Irish biologist in Spain. It is really me! I can stay in a farm, take care of horses, oserve and doing things with the plants. Since long time ago, I have dreamed to stay in a farmhouse with a stable, and play with horses. Besides, it always excites me to meet people from other countries, make friends, and learn their cultures. I have always enjoyed these kinds of activities in which cultural exchange occurs. Therefore, after thinking for some time, I decided to take part in this project. By this opportunity, I can also contribute to the society and for the environment.

However, it is not easy to cover all the expenses by myself. I have saved some money after paying my monthly expenses and some of family need, but I don't think I can catch up to meet the total expense to do this voluntary work at the end of this year. Besides paying for the project fee on the accomodation, I have to provide the transportation and visa and everthing by myself, which amount is quite expensive for an Indonesian like me. I will have to take unpaid leave for this activity, and still cover my family expenses and monthly billing. Therefore, I humbly ask for support to help make my dream comes true in this voluntary project with wildlife animals and ecological farming. I would be so grateful and make the best use of all your donation.

Thank you so much! :)
