I am a Zoology student looking to make a difference with wildlife all across the world. I have received the opportunity to go abroad this summer to Limpopo Province, South Africa. This opportunity will allow me to gain an edge on the competiton for a Veterinary technology program I will be applying for in about a year. All I have ever wanted to do is work with animals but found my passion a few years ago on a visit to Busch Gardens. Wildlife is what I want to work with and what I want to preserve for future generations. I will be working closely with the cheetahs and working with other volunteers in the care and maintenece of the facility. I'm currently working almost full time as a server and going to school half time. This trip is a wonderful opportunity for me to travel and discover new opportunites while making networking connections with people interested in the same things I am. I appreciate all the help provided by anyone no matter how small.

  • My Inspiration

    My inspiration
This photo depicts the exact moment my dreams became what they are. I took a trip with my dad to Busch Gardens and had the opportunity to be one of ten people to bottle feed the kangaroos and wallabies that day. I was lucky enough to get to feed two different ones. I held one of their paws while feeding him and the other I got to pet his chest. I asked the people working a few questions and I was hooked. There was nothing else that would give me this feeling, being close to a wild animal but providing care for it as well. This was my spark, my inspiration.

    Working Hard
I worked overtime this past week and killed it on a double on Saturday. I managed to earn enough to cover the deposit for the trip and have adjusted the donation amount accordingly. Its been a great couple of weeks and getting better. A few more weeks and we should be looking at a good start to the collection.
