Studying Abroad: Vienna 2019!
My Travel Story
I am very excited to say that I will be studying abroad in Vienna, Austria during the Fall of 2019! I will be studying music in what is known as the city of music itself and spend my time taking private lessons for clarinet, taking classes on Mahler, the classical symphony, as well as learning German! I will also love to travel throughout Europe to further expand my knowledge of world music, politics, and lifestyles. I believe that having these experiences are crucial in life, and learning from various cultures (not just one!) is an irreplaceable privilege that helps one develop as a traveler and grow as a person.
I know that many do not have the means to even think of studying abroad, and I am beyond grateful for this opportunity. However, that does not change the fact that this will be a very expensive trip. Along with my on-campus job, off-campus job, summer/winter break jobs, and scholarships, I am still attempting to save up a lot to allow myself the full experience of this trip. In no way am I expecting/depending on this to pay for all of my expenses or believe that because I am doing this, I will not have to work hard to be financially responsible. I have already applied to many scholarships through my college (not to mention that some the costs are already covered by my existing scholarships), through IES, and through third-party sponsors. I have also had many jobs over the year both during the summer and the winter, as well as work-study on-campus and am currently looking for another part-time job off campus. I will be so appreciative for any contribution that anybody makes to this trip and I will be sure to reach out to everyone who does! Thank you for even considering donating to help my study-abroad experience, and I will be sure to earn every penny!
