Peru 2019 - Building schools, hospitals & seeing sights!
My Travel Story
We will be working side by side with local communities to help construct schools, medical centres and at the same time become acquainted with the Peruvian peoples' way of life.
It is a chance for us to help them and in return hopefully receive the friendship and wisdom of a people whose day to day lives are very different from what I am used to.
This trip must be self funded and I will need to raise approx. £4,700 to make it a reality. Raising the money is obviously part of the challenge and not something I have ever needed to attempt before.
40% of the money raised goes towards investing in local economies, communities, wildlife & environmental conservation.
42% is for travel, insurance and accomodation.
15% goes towards support costs, (including all our fundraising support – including resources, webinars, etc)
The last 3% goes towards other costs, which does also include infrastructure development to ensure that the projects are not only maintained and sustainable, but to be able to expand into additional projects and or communities if the need is there.
To be honest, I realise I am not different to many people of my age - often not looking beyond my video console. I hope this trip will go some way to making me see the bigger picture, understand the world a little better and how I can usefully fit in and contribute.
Thank you.
