My Travel Story

by: Edgar Chomba Start Date: Feb 4, 2020 - End Date: May 3, 2020
Greetings. My name is Edgar Chomba. A Kenyan born and raised native. I am a professional documentary photographer and I will be embarking on a documentary journey throughout Africa to tell the story of the 'African Child'
Main focus will be the challenges they face, to how to help and solve the challenges and to the success stories so far. This wil be a volunteer trip and is merely out of passion and love for my continent.

From responding to massive earthquakes, tsunamis and cyclones, to providing lifesaving health care and nutrition to children in impoverished nations, I will be visisting the poorest and most vulnerable communities throughout the continent.

Your gift today creates meaningful change for children, families and their communities across the world — change that lasts a lifetime.
When you give to the African Children, 87% of every dollar goes straight to my mission — changing the lives of millions of children right here in africa. and around the world.

Millions of African kids don’t have a single book at home. You can give the gift of reading to a child
My mission with this travel documentary is to tell a story of hope and resilience. So many african kids face challenges that are beyond them. I hope that this will awake generations to come to hope to live another day in our lovely continent. I also would love to change the perception the world has about africa.

I am quite passionate about this project because it comes from a deeper part of past experiences, self recognition and personal growth. I hope to inspire kids far and beyond and mentor them to achieve anything they would love to achieve

My preference to travel these countries is inspired by the number of children facing challenges in these specific countries.

I will be touring Lagos, Cape Town, Malawi, Nairobi and many more cities to document their stories.

This is quite meaningful as I will be able to tell the untold story and at the same time change the perception of the world about Africa. This is for the greater good of the society rather than a personal goal.

Thank you so much!
