My Travel Story

Hello, I am Samantha (Sam) Gobel. I am currently a 10th grader living in Round Rock, Texas. When I was about a year old I was placed into foster care with me and my two other siblings. It was extremely difficult for us to have access to basic human needs. We went in and out of foster homes, but nothing ever stuck. However, fortuantly enough, we were found by these 2 amazing people who were willing to adopt not just me, but my siblings too. Now that I'm 16, I want to give back to the community by volunteering in another country. It's almost like a thank you to the world for allowing me to find my people. When I get older, I plan on becoming a marine biologist. So once I heard about IVHQ's volunteering opportunity (to help rescue and rehabilitate baby sea turtles in Bali), I was all for it. Now enough backstory, let me give you 5 reasons why you should even consider donating! 

1. Im a young student who wants to do good in the world.
2. This can possibly lead to college scholarships in the future. 
3. I have so much passion for this field. 
4. The HUGE impact this would have on my future career. 
5. Of course, I want to make my parents proud.
