I am delighted to share with you my participation in the 2024 London Marathon as a proud member of Team EMPOWER. The prospect of raising funds for Smile Train, an esteemed international children's charity, fills me with immense joy. Our collective efforts will bring smiles to children in great need, an endeavor that aligns closely with my enduring passion for serving others, particularly children and their families.

Smile Train's impactful mission centers around addressing a solvable issue: cleft lip and palate in children. The widespread isolation experienced by these young individuals is truly heart-wrenching, as it extends beyond mere physical appearance to encompass challenges in essential functions such as eating, breathing, hearing, and speaking.

One aspect that particularly resonates with me about Smile Train is their sustainable approach. Through the provision of training, funding, and resources to local doctors in more than 70 countries, the organization empowers these medical professionals to perform life-changing surgeries and deliver critical cleft care to their own communities, all free of charge. This model ensures a lasting impact well beyond the marathon, making a significant difference in the lives of countless children.
