My Travel Story

Last November I went on an ambitious travel that left a dramatic impact on my life forever. My trip began as an eager journey to a place I had never had the opportunity to see before, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. What started as a mere travel, evolved into something much greater. I had done brief research on Brazil before I departed, but little did I know this encounter was about to change my life. Upon arriving, I got to know the city and chatted with many locals in the streets, educating myself on their culture and their country. I was captivating by the warmth of the people towards me. Its like I had already been friends with them prior to meeting them. I was already starting to enjoy my travels. On the 3rd day of my trip I took a walk to a nearby favela, G.R.E.S Unidos Da Villa Rica. There, was where my journey and life was forever changed. I was totally astonished by the extremely poor living conditions these kind and warm people of Brazil were living in. Many families living with dirty water and others with no electricity. Upon experiencing these living conditions first hand, I was given the purpose of my trip. I knew it was my calling to help these gracious Brazilian people living in such miserable conditions. It was time to solve the problems leading to such a poor quality of life, and I am dedicating to helping the people of the world. On the next day my trip I met a local brazilian girl, Mariana, while grabbing a sandwich at a cafe for lunch. It was like destiny for us to meet. We instantly struck up conversation and began to talk for quite some time. I expressed to her the love and compassion I had for her beautiful city but also my concerns in which many people were living in such poor conditions with no opportunity, no care, or help from the government who served them. Mariana was struck by my passion for her country. She shared my same thoughts on these matters and also wanted to do things to help make a better Brazil. I was instantly in love with her. I knew that her bond, along with the help of others could contribute to a path that would leave Brazil a much greater place. I am asking, whatever is dearest in your heart, for any contribution that can help provide for a better world and a better Brazil. I am on a mission to reunite with Mariana, as we keep in touch through email, to provide a way to give people in poverty a chance and a better life. With your help and compassion we can build a better world together. Please send me back to Brazil!!!
