My Travel Story
My name is Isma, this year, I experienced one of the hardest losses of my life—my beloved 3-year-old Dalmatian passed away. He wasn’t just a pet; he was my best friend, my adventure partner, and my greatest teacher. Losing him left an emptiness that I struggled to fill, but instead of letting the grief consume me, I decided to turn it into something meaningful. His unconditional love and the lessons he taught me about compassion, responsibility, and resilience have inspired me to take action.
This summer, I will be traveling to Cape Town, South Africa, for a one-month volunteer mission at an animal shelterdedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need. In many parts of the world, countless animals suffer from neglect, abuse, and homelessness. Shelters like the one I will be assisting are often overwhelmed and underfunded, relying on volunteers and donations to keep their doors open. My goal is to provide hands-on help by caring for these animals, assisting with adoptions, and supporting the shelter’s outreach programs.
However, making this journey possible comes with expenses, including travel costs, accommodations, and donations to support the shelter. I am reaching out to my family, friends, and fellow animal lovers to ask for your support. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help me take this step toward making a real difference.
