My name is Alicia Houessou, and at 22 years old, I'm reaching out to you today with a heartfelt plea for help in funding my education. Hailing from Benin, I am the third child in a family of four, with hardworking parents in the middle class. Pursuing my passion for architecture and civil engineering, I made the bold decision to travel to the US for my studies, as these opportunities are scarce in my homeland.

Dreaming of shaping my country and Africa at large with beautiful, innovative designs, I've embarked on this journey to gain the skills and knowledge needed. However, the financial burden is immense. Each year, my education costs around $40,000, a sum that strains my family's resources, especially considering my siblings' educational needs and the steep exchange rate between the US dollar and FCFA.

As a junior in college, I find myself juggling multiple responsibilities. Working 25 hours a week just to afford the basics like food, rent, and school fees leaves little time for anything else. Yet, despite the challenges, I persevere, fueled by the hope of a brighter future.

If I could secure enough funds to cover my tuition for this year, approximately $40,000, it would be life-changing. With this weight lifted, I could focus on my studies and even contribute to my siblings' education, alleviating some of the strain on my parents.

Currently, I'm working tirelessly during the summer months, balancing work and study. Your support would not only ease my financial burden but also provide the stability I need to excel academically. Ideally, receiving the necessary funds by the end of summer would ensure a smooth transition back to school.
