Help a young couple separated by borders find a safe place to be together!

Hola desde México! We are a young couple from Mexico (Nick) and the US (Loretta). We dream of settling down together, but due to immigration restrictions, Nick is unable to move to the US. We have applied for his visa, but will be waiting at least another a year before the government responds to our application.

With no choice, we have been living in Mexico together for the past two years while we wait for Nick's visa. However, Loretta has an autoimmune disease and -- due to the conditions in Mexico -- has been constantly disabled. In a six month period, Loretta had seven infections and lost fifteen pounds -- results of living with the autoimmune disease in the context of Mexico/Latin America. To make matters worse, Loretta's disease is rare in Mexico and doctors are not well-versed in proper care. 

We cannot move to the US together yet, but we can't stay in Mexico without risking permanent medical damage to Loretta. We have decided to wait for Nick's visa in Europe, where conditions will be better for Loretta's disease. Here, we will do WorkAway to pay for our rent and food. But we need a little extra support for travel expenses -- specifically transportation and insurance. 

We hope our time in Europe treats us well, but this is not simply a vacation for us -- it's our last option to safely be together. We can't move to Loretta's home, but being in Nick's home is causing constant illness and pain for Loretta. We want nothing more than to settle down, work hard, live harder -- we are just in limbo right now due to the borders between our worlds.
