My Travel Story
Have you ever had the chance to experience a dream, but the only obstacle was money?
This May, I've been nominated for "Best Actress" in a Feature Film at the 2024 Nice International Film Festival. Can you imagine if I win for my very first lead role in a feature film and get to accept the award in France?!
It just sounds like the most romantic thing in the world to me, and I can't pass it up. "A Divorce Story" has already won Best Feature Film for January at the Cine Paris Film Festival and is up for other awards at the Nice International Film Festival as well including: "Best Feature Film in the English Language," "Best Director," and "Best Actor."
Accepting any of these on behalf of my cast and crew would be such an honor. As if this wasn't cool enough, the dates overlap with Cannes Film Festival! It seems like a no-brainer to go there and see who I meet!
What an adventure! Here's my itinerary:
May 12 - Paris - Arrive
May 13 - Nice International Film Festival - Networking event
May 14 - Screening - This will be my first time seeing my film "A Divorce Story." (The director, Kevin Mounce, wants my first time to be in an actual theater surrounded by an audience!)
May 15 - Award Ceremony - This is where I find out if I win Best Actress!
May 16-18 - Cannes - Explore the biggest film festival in the world to network with other filmmakers
May 19-20 - Paris - Experience the city since I've never been there and that's where I fly out of.
I have the time, I have the guts (to explore a foreign country where I don't speak the language), and I certainly have the motivation. I just need some support in the financial department.
