My Travel Story

by: Jeffrey Liam Start Date: Jan 5, 2022 - End Date: May 4, 2022
Hello,

The reasoning: It has been a lifelong dream of mine to see a volcano and I had that ripped from me due to covid.  It was my wife's dream to take a 'babymoon' to Hawaii and that was also ripped away from her.  Also, covid took away our pregnancy announcement, baby shower, and visits in the hopsital once the baby was born.  All of it had to be virutal.  Our excitment about pregnancy and birth went from 100 to near 0 real fast.  The birth of our daughter, of course, is amazing, etc.

What we did: My wife and I were suppose to visit Hawaii early in the summer of 2020.  We made smart use of Southwest Rapid Rewards, saved all the points needed, earned the free companion pass with smart credit card applications, booked the trip, and covid cancelled the trip.  We then had a baby making the trip unreasonable for the remainder of our companion pass which means our points won't go as far for the flights, hotels, rentals, etc. through Southwest.  Now, basically, the trip has doubled in cost.

Why we're looking for help:  We're loaded with student loans and did everything to make this trip happen at a low-budget rate and that opportunity was lost.  We're hoping there are people out there with disposable income or those that need to donate to charity to write-off on their taxes.

Thank you so much for your support for two working parents who just need a relaxing break and wish covid didn't exist.
