My Travel Story

I am a college in Wyoming majoring in Speech-Language Pathology, working hard to graduate early in just three years while preparing to apply to master’s programs. Despite financial challenges, I have always known my calling is to work with children. Childcare is not just an interest for me—it is my passion and the heart of my future career.

This dream was inspired by my grandfather, a man who devoted his life to helping others and never turned away someone in need. He taught me the importance of service, compassion, and giving back, values that guide every step I take. Volunteering abroad in Hua Hin, Thailand, is my way of honoring his legacy while gaining meaningful, hands-on experience working with children in an underserved community.

This opportunity will have a direct impact on my education and career. As I prepare for graduate school, this experience will strengthen my understanding of child development, cultural competence, and service-based work—skills that are essential for my future in a helping profession. It will allow me to grow both personally and professionally while confirming that this path is truly where I belong.

In Hua Hin, I will be supporting children by providing care, educational assistance, and emotional support in a community that benefits greatly from volunteers. Even small acts—showing up consistently, offering encouragement, and creating a safe, nurturing environment—can make a lasting difference in a child’s life. I hope to leave a positive impact while learning from the community as much as I give.
