Hi, My name is Jacob and I recently moved from Upstate New York to Southern California for my college education at Santa Barbara City College. I've been excepted into a study abroad program next semester in Kyoto Japan now all I need is the funds to make it happen.

This program will help me with my major (sociology), transferring to a four year university, and with my career. I plan on making politcal/community organizing and journalism abroad a career in the future and this sociology program in Japan will help me make my first ever steps out the country.

I am also planning on volunteering abroad in West Africa during my undergraduate term, teaching English as a second language. Teaching and education in general is something i've always been passionate about. I want to and plan to spend my life doing everything emotionally fulfilling that I can and not let this go to waste.

I currently spend my time on school work or at one of my 2 jobs as a cashier at whole foods or on campus at SBCC tutoring other students at the DSPS office. Im the type of person that hates being bored and needs to be prouctive 24/7. I plan on getting an associates degree in Sociology in SB and tranferring to a four year CUNY university.
