My Travel Story

by: Amanda Iremonger Start Date: Jul 13, 2020 - End Date: Jan 12, 2021

The women who runs this orphanage inspired me from the moment I started talking to her through Facebook. Her own personal journey is heartbreaking yet it became the catalyst to 6 orphans being in her care which has now expanded to 38. She has very little help and the achievements she has made such as buying land to build the mud brick dwellings amongst the day to day struggle of feeding and caring for so many children is extraordinary. The orphanage ultimately want to be self-sufficient and not have to rely on donations. The children are still going to bed hungry some nights. There are not enough beds. Not enough anything. I want to go and use my skills and knowledge to help them reach some goals. I have never felt so strongly about something and I would appreciate if anyone can help to fund my airfare. Or if they want to donate directly to the Hope Orphans Centre Iganga

Thank you kindly
