Hi everyone! My name is Sarah Cassell and I am an elementary education & transformative educational studies double major at Boston College. I am very happy to announce that I have been accepted to study abroad this fall in Ireland at University College Cork!

As a low-income student, this has been one of my biggest dreams. I never imagined I would even be at Boston College, nonetheless study abroad - especially having never left the country before. I never imagined the little homeless girl living in a trailer in me would even have had the opportunity to make it to BC, nonetheless study abroad in the city my great-great-grandfather was born in! 

Enduring homelessness and experiencing poverty throughout my childhood, attending BC on financial aid has been an incredible blessing. Now, having the opportunity to study abroad is truly a dream come true. 

I am excited to learn about Irish culture and global education. As an aspiring educator, I hope to take everything I learn whilst studying aboard with me when I become an elementary school teacher.
