My Travel Story

This will be a Personal trip to help my father who was a Liutenant in Vietnam War. Now a Veteran, my father decided to go south and live out his years in Mobile, Alabama. However, all of his friends and his family have passed away. So he had no one to watch over him. We would check on him with a phone call but he would often not tell us what was truly going on, being too PROUD to tell anyone he needed help. So this is where it all started. A call was made to a VETERAN CRISIS HOTLINE. Since they couldn't reach him, they contacted the ADULT PROTECTIVE SERVICES, who then called my sister. My sister and brother immediately traveled down there to find my dad withering away. He didn't even look like himself. My father is very stubborn and didn't want to leave Alabama and we didn't want to put him in a facility down there where we couldn't keep an eye on him. He finally gave in and my siblings rushed him up to Ohio where me and my sister live. After a trip to the hospital, we learned my father has PANCREATIC CANCER and may ONLY HAVE MONTHS TO LIVE. The reason we need to go back to ALABAMA is because my siblings had to leave so fast that there was no time to take anything. We need to get his important personal belongings and things like his MEDICAL POWER OF ATTORNEY, HIS WILL, THE DEED TO HIS HOME, ETC. so none of his things end up in probate court, not to mention if his house gets broken into and his valuables get stolen. The reason we can't afford this trip is, I'm fighting workers comp and will need a 3rd surgery on my back, so I haven't been able to work. And my sister just went down there and had to rent a car to get there. She just can't afford to go back. PLEASE HELP! This is of the utmost importance! Anyone who has ever gone through this will understand how urgent this need is. Thank you in advance to anyone who is willing to help. Costs will be renting a vehicle, both ways, that can pull a cargo trailer, the cargo trailer, one way, gas and meals.
