HELLO ALL!!!

First, thank you in advance for taking the time to stop and read what's below.

Second, I'd like to share with you my next theatrical venture that I'm deeply passionate about; I've been accepted into the Summer Acting Intensive at Shakespeare's Globe!! This is a 2-week-long classical actor training program taking place this July 4-18 in the place that, for all intents and purposes, has made Shakespeare a household name for more than 400 years. I've been itching, for a good while, to add classical training to my repertoire and just haven't had much of an opportunity...until now!

In those 2 weeks I'll have the opportunity to participate in/receive class and workshop training from Shakespeare's Globe faculty, travel to the birthplace of Shakespeare in Stratford-Upon-Avon, as well as see a show at the Royal Shakespeare Company...just to name a few!

The only thing that stands in my way of having been accepted to this program and actually getting there is, of course, finances. For those who know me well, you know asking for monetary help generally makes me feel weird. I wonder in times like these, who am I to ask others for their hard-earned money while offering nothing immediate in return? But nevertheless, here I am, humbly asking for your help in whatever amount you're able to provide it; whether $2 or $200, so that I might be able to take part in what I imagine will be a life-changing trip and equally life-changing education during the time I'm there.

Many know that when I'm not onstage myself I otherwise serve as an arts educator and all-around cheerleader and mentor of children. It's my hope that not only will this trip positively inform my own acting, but my teaching as well. Opportunities to broaden my cultural horizons are always such treasured experiences for me because it expands my worldview, whether by reading a book on peoples/cultures different than that of my own or by physically going to a new place. I hope, with your help, I'm able to broaden them once more by making it to London, England this July!

I promise, although I can't repay your kindness with money, that I will repay it by continuing to be a light in children’s and others lives by taking the joy and magic of theatre into schools in my current Idaho Theatre for Youth work and who knows in how many other ways in the years to come!

Gratefully,
Shan

P.S. I've also attached a link to the program and a couple links to my work here so you can see some of the projects I've been involved in recently =).
