Hello. This is Rory and Tallulah Dack. We have been given this once in a lifetime  opportunlity to go to Model United Nations (MUN) held in the actual UN HQ in New York. Our MUN experience will include two sessions, each four days long, and be a simulation of the real UN.  We will be representing three different countries; France, The Bahamas, and Cote d'Ivoire and we will serve on four different committes; UNODC, SPECPOL, ITU and the International Criminal Court. There will also be a "World-Class Speakers" series which we will be opting to attend. This 10 day event, aside from being really exciting, will teach us how different countries' cultures and policies vary, how to write and present position papers, crisis management negotiation and how debate and communicate wih people from all over the world, to affect positive changes in the world. This is often known to be life changing for those who attend. It is a high pressure, intense environment that builds character, purpose and vision. It would mean the world to us if you choose to support us - and hopefully, one day, the world might be a better place because of it.

    3 Days left....
Excitement is building, three more days before we leave on our adventure. Bags are packed, notes ready, we have practiced and researched so much that we believe we are truly ready for the challenges in front of us.

We are so grateful to everyone who has helped us on our way. People have been so generous, we are humbled by each and every contribution. We promise we will do our best to make every second of this trip worthwhile, to represent our allocated countries and committees to the best of our ability, demonstrating what we have learned in debate, argument, consensus and resolution.

We still have a short way to go to reach our target and continue to be grateful for all contributions, your generosity has made a massive impact on our live. We cannot thank people enough for their support and encouragement in this opportunity.

Love and gratitude to all. Thank you for being awesome.

    T & R Dack

  • THANK YOUS, Post Cards And Preparations...

THANK YOUS, Post Cards and Preparations...
We leave in exactly 14 days and the pressure is on from all directions.

Firstly, THANK YOU very much to everyone who has supported us, financially and otherwise, throughout this adventure. To all of you who would still like to chuck some pennies in the hat, we still have 14 days left to reach our goal...Fabulously, we have been chosen to be featured by fundmytravel as our campaign has been deemed relevant and worthy. Also, to every supporter, we will be contacting you to ask for your postal address. Sure, emails are wonderful, however, we will send you an actual picture postcard from New York! This also means you'll be forever linked to our Christmas Card list :)

For our intensive preparations, we're immensely grateful to Ms. Cheryl Jennings-Blanchet, who has given us incredible, accurate, inspirational and clear guidance as we prepare for this venture. From the content, the structure, the techniques and actual work itself, Ms. Cheryl Blanchet, has been undeniably fabulous. We're both working really hard, efficiently and enjoying it.

    * We're learning to write resolution papers. Using active gerunds to begin and semi colons to end sentences with is strange at first.
    * Additionally, with IMUNA, no computers of phones are allowed in sessions, so ALL our notes have to be written down and taken in with us...what will we need?
    * And every day, we have to make sure we're aware of as many international news stories as possible. Some of it is unbelievably hideous; Duterte's latest order left us cold...yet, made us realize how important it is that decent people don't stay quiet or ignorant in this rapidly changing world. We're been very grateful to the Quartz Daily Brief - which we turn into a nightly news cast!

And, again, to all those who have supported us - Thank you for choosing to help us learn and grow and experience things we otherwise wouldn't ...especially when we know that you all have a zillion more things you could have done with your cash. The sentiment, that you chose to help us, has both humbled us and put fire in our bellies to make you proud.

    Thank you for being awesome!
