My Travel Story

I want to drive Route 66 (what's left of it) and the Pacific Coast Highway. This trip would be my first long trip by myself, so I'm asking for a donation to cover airfare to Chicago, the start, and from California, the end, to home in North Carolina. I plan on renting a car in Chicago and camping along the way to minimize costs. I hope to spend an entire month driving, which would ensure I can hit all the attractions.

I originally considered this cross country road trip as an alternative in case I was forced to take a gap year before medical school. Instead of waiting to be rejected, I decided to take the trip before I even apply. This way, I have another extraordinary experience going into applications. Plus, once medical school starts, time will be hard to come by, making a trip like this unlikely.
