My Travel Story

Forty-five years ago, my parents made the brave decision to leave behind everything they knew to build a better life for our family. They poured their hearts and souls into creating a home, a business, and a community that would give us opportunities they never had. For over two decades, they worked tirelessly, often sacrificing their own well-being to make ends meet.

Their selflessness knows no bounds. Even after becoming grandparents, they continued to give, devoting themselves to helping raise their grandchildren so their daughter-in-law could focus on her career and save money. But life hasn't been easy. They've faced unimaginable hardships – the loss of their son, my mom's near-fatal battle with COVID-19, and my dad's struggle to keep their family restaurant afloat.

It's been over 20 years since they've set foot in their homeland of Greece, the place they left behind to give us a chance at a better future. My dad has missed out on so much – the passing of his mother, brother, and sister, as well as milestones in the lives of his nieces and nephews. It's time for them to reconnect with their roots, rest, and experience peace after a lifetime of hard work and sacrifice.

I want to give them the ultimate gift – a trip to Greece. I'm hoping to raise enough to cover their airfare, accommodations, and travel expenses so they can finally see where they were born, where they spent time as kids and teenagers, and reconnect with childhood friends. They deserve this more than words can express.
