Help Stefan and Pua find his siblings!
My Travel Story
He was taken from his mother (whom he never really knew) when he was 2 and put into boys' homes, foster homes and orphanages. While in one of the boy’s homes, he was introduced to his brother Jamie. At some point he found out he had a sister and 2 more brothers. He has thought of them often and would love dearly to meet them.
The Children Baptist Home in Inglewood CA. is the name of the orphanage where he received his diagnosis of Mild Development Retardation in the early 70s. Growing up with Asperger's in the Los Angeles social system was daunting for him, and he believes that unless one has experienced it firsthand, they cannot truly understand its challenges.
He aged out of the system at 19 without a clear direction for his life and found it difficult to fit in. Attempting to join the military, he was turned away due to suffering from PTSD and Asperger's. Throughout his life, he has faced various hardships, including fighting for his basic needs and enduring periods of isolation.
Education was never a priority for those like him, and he had to rely on self-education to survive. Despite his efforts to make a living, his social disorder often resulted in him being fired from jobs due to misunderstandings and not fitting in.
He didn’t really meet his mother until 2013 when he was 52. I was with him and saw there was no love there. I was so proud of him and how he handled the whole situation. He spent time with her and said he forgave her.
In October of 22, he found out that his mother had passed away. This triggered him to realize that if he was going to meet his half sister and brothers (living in Detroit, California, and Florida) him and Pua was going to have to give up the comfortable life in his beachfront Vandominium on the island of Maui, HI and travel to the mainland and start a whole new journey from coast to coast and more.
Stephan is a kind and compassionate person who is always willing to help others. He is intelligent, resourceful and has a strong desire to learn new things. He is also a talented artist and writer.
I am seeking assistance to fundraise for him a reliable vehicle, an RV, and travel expenses, which will enable him to embark on this life-changing journey. Despite the potential risks to his disability status, he is determined to create a better future for himself beyond his current circumstances as a shopping cart pusher.
Any support or contribution to his campaign would be deeply appreciated as he strives to move forward and embrace new opportunities on this coast-to-coast journey. Your help will make a significant difference in his life and help him overcome the obstacles he faces.
Thank you for taking the time to read his story and considering supporting his travel funding campaign. Together, we can make a difference and pave the way for a heartfelt reunion with his siblings.
