My Travel Story

I am writing to you today with a plea that is both urgent and deeply personal. My beloved son, a new single father, is facing unimaginable challenges as he cares for his six-month-old son, my grandson, in Texas. They are in a moment of crisis, and my heart breaks knowing they are so far away while they struggle to recover and find stability.  My son needs immediate support to not only care for his son but also to begin the hard work of rebuilding their home and their lives. They need more than just financial assistance; they need a presence to help restore their sense of normalcy and provide them with the emotional and mental support they so desperately need.  Every dollar donated will go directly to helping my family. Here is a breakdown of what the funds will cover:
1. Round-Trip Travel from Chicago to Seguin, TX: Approx. $400 - $800 (This covers a round-trip bus or train ticket This provides a realistic budget for a last-minute trip.)
2.Two Weeks of Food & Supplies: Approx. $500 (This will cover groceries for my son and me, as well as a new supply of diapers, formula, and other household items that were lost.)
3.Contingency Fund for Two-Week Stay: Approx. $300 (This is a flexible fund to cover unexpected costs, such as repair services, transportation, or any other unforeseen needs during this emergency visit.)

Total Goal: $1,500

My greatest wish is to be there for them. allowing me to bring my strength and love directly to their side. I will cook, clean, care for my grandson, and stand by my son as he navigates this challenging time. By helping me get there, you would not just be funding a trip; you would be investing in their ability to heal and thrive.  Please, help me bridge the miles and bring my love and support to my family.
