I'm Camille, and I have been a Girl Scout for many years in New York and have done years of community service. I have found a lot of love for helping others and showing that even one person can make a difference in some way. It brings me so much happiness knowing that I was able to help someone or contribute to my community. It's important to me to not only give back to those around me, but to put myself somewhere else in this world and give back. This year I have been met with the amazing opportunity to go to Greece for two weeks for a Community Support project in September!

Neighboring countries around Greece have been experiencing violence for the past few years, therefore my project will consist of me working at a community center in Athens. Many refugees and asylum seekers have access to steady employment as well as other skills at this center to ensure they are able to support their families in Greece. This center offers language classes, workshops and skills such as carpentry, IT & Media, tailoring, welding, electricity, and more.. It's important that the unemployed have this safe space to build a path towards social integration in their new homes. My role in this project will be to provide support in operating the center as well as interacting with many individuals that are seeking a better future in Greece!

I have set up this campaign for the expenses of my trip. I am working very hard to support this but I am also grateful and appreciative of any help with the costs. This beautiful experience is going to be life changing, and I am only going to learn more about the world we live in while meeting many people that have a different life than mine. This will also be my first time traveling alone, and will be the first of many trips :) Thank you for reading, sharing, and for any help received!
